David H. James, CFA, CMT was born in 1955. Mr. James graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he graduated summa cum laude in 1991. He also earned his Master of Music degree from the University of Texas at Austin (1995). Mr. James joined Robert Harrell Incorporated as Investment Adviser Representative in 2010.
Prior to joining RHI, Mr. James worked as the senior analyst with CACH Capital Management, LLC (2010) and with Martin Capital Advisors, LLP (2004-2009). During his career, he has been assistant manager and head trader for a mutual fund, a financial commentary writer, and an all-around resource for market analysis and trading strategies. He has been a leader in the investing community since 1995, serving as President of the Austin Chapter of the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII), and Vice President of Austin Area Financial Traders (AAFT). Mr. James earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2006. Additionally, he earned the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation in 2007.
